Connect with your council. Details of how the council consults with its residents and opportunities to be consulted with

We are eager to find out your views on many of the issues, and council initiatives, which affect you, your family and your community.

Because communication and consultation is all about you, this area of the council's website is dedicated to finding out what you think about many of the services, facilities, and opportunities that New Forest District Council offers.

Council Tax support scheme 2015/16

Our local Council Tax Reduction (CTR) scheme helps people on low income pay their Council Tax. We have listened to residents throughout the year, and it is proposed that no changes be made to our Council Tax Reduction scheme for 2015/16. Find out more about the current scheme and if you have any comments, please send them to us by 5 December 2015.

Views sought on public involvement in planning

New Forest District Council has published a revised Statement of Community Involvement setting out how residents can have their voices heard on district-wide planning strategy as well as on planning applications that may affect them. View and comment on the Statement of Community Involvement.

Why we consult.

How we use the results from the consultations.

We work with other local organisations and authorities to achieve better, more efficient opportunities to engage with communities.  To help us achieve this we have the New Forest District's Community Engagement Good Practice Guide.
